The BA-50 is a handcrafted (using the eyeletboard technique), dual-channel construction with the capability to boost drive channel (gain, volume). I designed it with the goal of equaling or even exceeding the sound qualities of 100-watt amplifiers.
Through my hands, many global amplifier brands have passed, and whenever I compared two versions of a particular model, the 50-watt and 100-watt models, the 100W version always had more punch (dynamics and attack), greater headroom, and a fuller sound. The only downside was that to fully appreciate its advantages, you had to turn it up louder, which in today's times, on many stages, is practically impossible.
Glad to say, I hit my target dead on.
The BA-50 is known for its substantial punch and headroom, delightful, melodious compression, rich harmonics, and all of these qualities are accessible even at low volume.
The amplifier features a fast and powerful low end, a distinct but not piercing high end, and something many guitarists truly love - a melodic, growling midrange. The sound can be very organic and creamy.
The EQ, presence, and gain controls are highly efficient and useful across almost their entire range.
With solo guitarists in mind, the amplifier features a drive boost – BOOST DRIVE, allowing for an increase gain and volume. This function is accessible both from the footswitch and the front panel.
Controlled by a footswitch, the series, buffered effects loop synergizes well with modulation and spatial effects. The buffered effects loop aims to minimize tone and dynamics loss caused by long cables or effects connected to it.
The CLEAN channel, with a separate EQ, is highly versatile and dynamic, featuring a full, fat, yet clear sound. It pairs exceptionally well with stompbox overdrives.
This amplifier has a fantastic feel under your fingers, cuts through the mix excellently, without overshadowing other instruments.
Importantly, it "reads" instruments – after changing the guitar, you immediately hear the difference in wood type, pickups, and even the thickness of the pick you're using.
